Deep Creek Lake 2024

Image
We just got back from fun friends & family weekend at Deep Creek Lake! We planned the trip with my friend/college roommate Ashley, her husband and her kids (who happen to be the same ages as our kids), her parents and my parents. We arrived late Friday to our cabin, ordered pizza from Brenda’s, played outside, and roasted s’mores. The kids got to bed way past their bedtime, and then barely slept… all in good fun! Saturday morning was rainy, so we played in the cabin, did a puzzle, had a big breakfast, and played some games.  When the rain cleared up, we walked down to the lake so the kids could go fishing (unsuccessfully).  That afternoon, the grandparents headed to the Honi Honi bar, and we took the kids to Fun Land. We started in the arcade, then Ashely and I took our 4 year olds on bumper cars. It was so much fun!  When we got home, we made margaritas & guac as an appetizer to our enchilada dinner. We had another fire with s’mores, then got the kids to bed slightly earlier…

Disney World 2024

This post is long overdue, but it was about time I documented our family trip to DISNEY WORLD! Back in February, Josh had a work conference at Disney's Swan & Dolphin Resort, so we tagged along, brought his mom, and had a magic time! After our travel day, we arrived at the resort and let the kids run out their energy at the playground. We had dinner reservations this night at the California Grill in the Contemporary hotel.  This restaurant was fabulous, with an amazing view of the Magic Kingdom Castle. However, in hindsight, we probably shouldn't have done this the first night. The meal was pre-fix and served in coursed, which wasn't ideal for our hungry, cranky kids.  We did our best to entertain them and we were able to make it to fireworks time- which we watched from the restaurant's rooftop deck. Brooks slept through the whole thing, but Adelaide thought it was magical! Day 2 was Magic Kingdom day. We rode lots of rides, met princess, and enjoyed the parade. The
